Does God Care About Our Hardships, Struggles, and Pain?
Maybe you’re not a daredevil, but still.
Have you ever jumped off a bridge into a river?
It always looks so easy until you actually climb up there, stand on the edge, gaze down, and realize it looks about a hundred times higher from up here than it did from down there.
So you stall. You reconsider. You recalculate. You search for resolve.
Then, eventually, if you muster the courage…
One of the major complaints non-believers have against God is his apparent indifference to our struggles and problems.
If God exists, they want to know, then why all the suffering?
Would a loving God really let children starve and die?
Would he allow people to be killed by earthquakes and tsunamis and tornadoes?
Or any of this?
If he can’t even keep order on this planet, they reason, how could he possibly be the ruler of the Universe?
And it’s not just the atheists and agnostics, either.
I think most believers share the same concerns from time to time.
They’re pretty good questions, if you ask me.
Chiefly: Does. God. Care. Question mark.
